Android Operating System


Android is a mobile operating system based on Linux. Android has the advantage that is open (open source). Users do not need to pay to use it and free to develop or add new applications therein.
Initially, Google Inc.. bought Android Inc.., newcomers who make software (software) specifically for mobile phones. After joining, formed Handset Alliance. Handset Alliance is a merger of 34 companies for hardware (hardware), software, and telecommunications, including HTC, Intel, Motorola, T-Mobile, and Nvidia. With the formation of Handset Alliance, then there are 2 types of distributors operating system Android.

The first distributor backed by Google Mail Services (GMS) and the second independent distributors without direct support from Google, known as the Open Handset Distribution (OHD).
As a mobile phone-based operating system, Android has some supporters of the system features, such as:

6. Media that supports audio, video, and image (MPEG4, H.264, MP3, AAC, AMR, JPG, PNG, GIF)
7. Bluetooth, EDGE, 3G, WiFi dn
8. Camera, GPS, compass, and accelerometer
9. Development environment includes a complete and rich device emulator, tools for debugging, as well as a plugin for the Eclipse IDE.

5. Android version 2.2 (Froyo: Frozen Yoghurt)
6. Android version 2.3 (Gingerbread)

8. Android version 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)

Ice Cream Sandwich is the latest Android version released by Google on October 19, 2011. This version is combined and the combination of Android version 2.3 (Gingerbread) which is only suitable for smartphones and 3.0 (Honeycomb) which is only suitable for tablets.
